 | VW Skid Plate Diamond Tread 5052 Grade Aluminum: Our Volkswagen oil pans are made of a paper-thin cast aluminum that easily cracked by many objects such as road debr , manhole covers speed bumps. While your car may be at stock height , re only approximately 4 inches of ground clearance with your oil pan. If you are lowered from stock height , re very little room for error when negotiating an object in your path. The aluminum skid plate protects your whole engine compartment including oil pan , a/c compressor , radiator , transm sion rear sub frame plastic side skirts. Why r k potentially thous s of dollars of damage to you car when you can protect it with an Evolution Auto aluminum skid plate. Here some information on Evolution Aluminum Skid Plate for those of you that haven't seen it before. The Evolution skid plates are made of 3/16 inch smooth diamond tread 5052 grade aluminum. It bolted to frame using very strong compression nuts. The Evolution skid plates are very strong best of all y will never rust. We have skid plates for Volkswagen Golf , Jetta Jetta Wagon from 1999.5 to 2005. These skid plates also fit all of New Beetles. We also have skid plates that fit Golf Jetta 3 from 1993 to 1999. Our Evolution aluminum skid plates range between 12 pounds 23 pounds with all of hardware , bolts etc. The skid plate made so you will have maximum amount of ground clearance possible. All you will need to install one of our Evolution skid plates a set of wrenches , car ramps 15 minutes to 1 hour of spare time. You get Full Instructions With Your Purchase. On New Beetle , Golf Jetta 4 , very little modification needs to be done to side skirts. Only one small square needs to be cut out of plastic side skirts so solid aluminum post can bolt to frame. A specially designed compression nut tool included with every Evolution MK4 skid plate for easy installation. The Evolution MK3 skid plates do not use compression nuts. They do come with a complete bolt kit for easy installation. Note: Oil drain access hole available for TDI , 2.0 , 1.8T. The VR6 oil drain access hole not available at th time.
